Quantitative Reasoning Professional Learning Series

The Charles A. Dana Center will support Indiana Commission for Higher Education’s implementation of Quantitative Reasoning courses. This arc of support from Fall 2018 through Fall 2019 is designed to help participants:

  • Develop a shared understanding of current implementation of quantitative reasoning course learning outcomes across institutions,
  • Learn about best practices in curriculum and pedagogy in quantitative reasoning courses,
  • Identify and use resources available to help turn learning outcomes into a student-centered curriculum, and
  • Reflect on personal pedagogical practices and implement evidence-based practices into teaching.

These workdays support college and university quantitative reasoning faculty in sharing mathematics teaching and learning strategies.

  • Current QR instructors
  • Potential QR instructors

Participants will

• Reflect on and share personal pedagogical practices in quantitative reasoning courses
during AY2018-2019,
• Engage with additional promising practices in curriculum and pedagogy, and
• Plan for implementation and continuous improvement throughout the coming year.
