If you’re deploying, mobilizing, or activating and need to take time off from school, we have information to help ensure your transition back to duty is smooth.
What to do if you’re going to be deployed.
Whether you’re an active duty member or a member of the National Guard or Reserves, you know that you can be called upon anytime, anywhere, to serve your country — maybe even in the middle of the semester. When such call-ups occur, you immediately need to square away your GI Bill benefits and any other financial benefits with the school and notify any lending institution of your unit’s activation.
To ensure you receive proper credit and prevent any financial loss, see our helpful pre-deployment checklist along with sample letters you can send to your school and lending institution.
When you return from duty, there are also procedures to follow for re-enrollment and properly reinstating your GI Bill benefits.
